Visual Novel: Golden Hostage

A routine night shift for security guard Vovan ends in disaster. He's fired over the phone, without even a hearing, while the millionaire owner's son attempts suicide right by the pool. The attempt fails in the most absurd way, but it's this very night that brings together four desperate people with nothing left to lose.

Vovan was discarded as a lost cause after ten years of service. Fugitive plastic surgeon Anatoly is being sought by creditors and a vengeful client. Natalya, the cook, will be killed if she doesn't pay off the family debts. And Eduard is a broken, wealthy heir, despised by his own father who has no intention of saving him. When life has driven everyone into a corner, a mad plan is hatched: kidnap Eduard himself and demand a ransom from his father, the millionaire Konstantin. After all, his reputation is worth more than his own son. Thus begins an absurd crime road movie through the Russian outback. A stolen pink van with the sign "Seductive Balls," roadside motels, a gunsmith with a cross around his neck, abandoned farms, chases, and explosions. And most unexpectedly, Eduard is ecstatic. For the first time in his life, he's been kidnapped, called names, and forced to truly live. For the first time, he feels needed.

But Konstantin has long arms and deep pockets. He's not used to paying and not used to losing, and anyone he meets is ready to sell out the heroes for a percentage. And only the three losers themselves—Vovan "Bang," Anatoly "Bubble," and Eduard "Enema"—gradually transform from random travel companions into the semblance of a family none of them ever had. Will they be able to outwit the millionaire and reach the end—or will another mistake leave them nothing but a rusty van on the side of the road?

This is an interactive dark comedy—a text-based quest where you read the story and make decisions for the characters.

At key moments, you face a choice: calmly explain everything or offer a bribe, kidnap the heir or retreat, trust a shady character or flee.

Each decision leads either further along the plot or to a fatal dead end with absurd and brutal credits, where the characters die, go to prison, or disappear without a trace.
